Are you 18 or over? Yes.
Canon: Doctor Who.
Character: The Doctor (12).
Timeline: 8x05: Time Heist.
Personality: The Doctor has had many faces over his long and illustrious life. Some of them have been kind, some have been cruel, and some have been downright mad. This time, he is very Scottish, and that is where the personality section is going to end.
-- okay, fine, I'll actually write one, gdit.
In his twelfth incarnation, the Doctor is older. At nearly 2,000 years old, the Doctor seems to finally be ready to grow up -- or so he claims. He's poised, dressed in dark clothing with bright trim, with hawkish features and pointed expressions. His TARDIS is a reflection of the mish-mash of his personality -- bright technology, spinning mobile parts, and yet, the walls are covered with chalkboards and the floors scattered with old fashioned leather armchairs. This is a far cry from his previous childish persona, who covered the TARDIS with shiny objects and bright things. He's evolved into his skin, a bit more than usual.
That being said, there's still a lot that he doesn't know. The Doctor is concerned over whether or not he's a good person or a bad one, because he just doesn't know anymore. He's made a lot of terrible decisions in his life and has been cruel in more than one instance, but as Clara points out, he tries to be a good person, and that should be what matters. In an instance of saving someone's life or saving his own, the Doctor will always save the person in front of him. Whether or not this is a mark of heroism or a mark of his own self-deprecation, the Doctor never seems to let on. He tries his best, though, to make the best decision possible for the betterment of his friends, family, and the universe. Sacrificing one to save many is often not an option, but the Doctor won't hesitate to kill someone who is attempting to kill someone else, or to defend himself.
This version of the Doctor is also a bit more abrasive than his previous incarnations, angry and loud and often impatient. He tells people that they're stupid when he feels that they are and the notion of being polite (which seems to be a running theme throughout all incarnations of the Doctor) is a foreign one. "Shut up!" is his turn of phrase and when someone is being boring, he's not afraid to leave them be. He has a strong distaste for guns, armies, war, and soldiers, and doesn't make his hatred of them hidden from view. He can be judgmental, rude, and cross -- and when the Doctor is angry, you don't want to be in his path. Most of his Companions just move out of his way.
Despite his temper problem, the Doctor exhibits a great amount of care and compassion. He is an optimist underneath his 2,000+ years of history proving him that that's a mistake. He prefers to believe in the best of people, rather than the worst. Humanity seems to be his favorite alien race, as he spends quite a lot of time on Earth in a variety of timelines, and he's fascinated by how different human nature can be. He genuinely cares for his companions, every single one, and will fight to the death to keep them safe. His current (and in this incarnation, only) companion, Clara, seems to be the boss of the TARDIS, and though the Doctor claims he doesn't take orders, he always listens to her when she insists on being heard. He affectionately calls her 'boss' and steps out of the way when she wants to go first. He cares for her very deeply and will fight to protect her above anything else. That being said, the Doctor will also be the first to tell her that she's wrong and an idiot, and she will turn right around and do the same to him.
The Doctor's biggest motivation in life, though, is the pursuit of knowledge. He gets extraordinarily frustrated when he doesn't know something and that pursuit to know what he doesn't know pushes him forward. He's opened doors clearly labelled 'DO NOT OPEN' because he wants to know what's inside. He pushes buttons that say 'DO NOT PUSH' to see what happens. The Doctor is the greatest keeper of secrets in the universe, but he hates them being kept from him. If there is a situation where there's something new or something unique, the Doctor will stay in that point in time until he figures it out. This can be to his great success or his great detriment -- not knowing something is his greatest motivator to moving through time. He's often said, throughout his history, "When I've seen everything is when I'll stop travelling". And as he's in his Twelfth incarnation, he obviously hasn't reached that point yet.
In synopsis, the Twelfth Doctor can kind of be a jerk. He's abrasive, grumpy, sulks a lot, can act a little childish, and doesn't really know who he is. That being said, he is also kind, compassionate, and devoted to the pursuit of knowledge and the defense of the universe. He is, after all, the Doctor, and he will always prefer that title above the Oncoming Storm.

Abilities/Additional Notes: Biology: The Doctor is not human, so certain things are different. He has two hearts, with the capability of being able to function with only one running, though it's very painful and he's kind of useless. He can survive a lack of oxygen quite a bit longer than the normal person and is often seen hanging out in the gravitational field of the TARDIS in the cold dark of space. He has a heightened form of senses, as well, able to taste specific molecules and ingredients in the air. He can also sniff something out, which results in a lot of odd conversations when he invades someone's personal space.
Time Travel: The Doctor is a Time Lord. Part of his species is that he can feel, see, hear the state of the time vortex. He can feel planets spinning when he stands on the surface and has a telepathic connection with his ship, the TARDIS. All of these are going to be nerfed to a point due to the pocket universe aspect of Adstringendum, so all he's going to feel is a bit... stuffy in the head with the state of things. His connection to the time vortex is going to be (obviously) cut off.
The TARDIS: The TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimensions In Space) is his spaceship and home. The ship usually takes the form of a blue policebox from the 1960s. It's supposed to take the shape/form of anything familiar in the area, but as the ship has a broken chameleon circuit, the Doctor's TARDIS is stuck in the form of a blue policebox. The running gimmick of the TARDIS is the companions the Doctor chooses to travel with step into the TARDIS, step back out, run around it, and run back in going "It's bigger on the inside?!" The TARDIS is also somewhat sentient, having a bond with the Doctor and often only allowing him to drive it. All of that being said, I would like for the TARDIS to come with the Doctor to Adstringendum, but only as a policebox. It won't be bigger on the inside, or contain anything extraordinarily special. The console will be defunct and the TARDIS will only function as a useless box. No time travel, sentience, or bigger-on-the-inside capability.
Sonic Screwdriver: The Doctor has a Sonic Screwdriver that has a number of functions, which include unlocking mostly anything and being able to take certain readings, like air pressure, blood types, and mechanical functions of certain things. The powers are pretty ambiguous according to whoever is writing the show at the time, but it's basically a tool to unlock things and tell the Doctor odd and end mechanical things.
Psychic Paper: The Doctor also has a paper that is mildly psychic, which he often shows to people that catch him breaking into government buildings. The paper responds to whatever the person looking at it is thinking at the time, so it ranges from official credentials to a plumbing permit. If an individual has a high level "psychic" ability, the paper will just look blank.
First-Person Sample: [The Doctor is sitting on the roof of a building, the PCD being held in those long spindly fingers of his, his trademark scowl.]
I need a thing.
[Delicately. Because this is a delicate matter.]
I need a kettle, two pieces of string, a bit of aluminium, and all of this needs to be delivered promptly in a package with wrapping paper consisting of comics.
But only the good ones -- don't send me any rubbish.
[And the PCD is shut off.]
Third-Person Sample:
The Doctor hates this place.
It's not so much that it's a pocket universe, because those are fun. Interesting, even. He likes taking them apart and putting them back together and figuring out the anomalies.
The problem with this place, though, is that he can't leave. And that is annoying. He's used to hopping in his magical box and canvassing the galaxies and popping into Ancient Rome for a spot of lunch, but now?
The Doctor is sitting on top of his TARDIS (his poor defunct old girl, without so much as a working telephone) which took an embarrassing amount of effort, sulking.
His only companion now is a rabbit, which has been leering up at him since the Doctor assumed his new perch, like a grumpy Scottish bird.
The Doctor stares back down at it, eyes narrowed, before he leans forward.
"What're you looking at?" the Doctor leered, irritated at how some stupid rabbit is more at ease with this bizarre unnatural world than he, a Time Lord, is. "Don't you have some den to crawl into?"
